A Place of Rest

A place of quiet rest, near the heart of God. Where in the world can you find rest—in a bar or any other evil place?
Can you receive a kind word from someone filled with hate?
Can you receive a word that takes your anxiety away when they are more anxious than you?
Will anyone invite you to their home when the door is closed?
Who shall bring a smile and a helpful hand when you have fallen down?
Who shall forgive me when I have done wrong in the judgment of many?
Who shall fight for my right to be free when I am in bondage to myself?
When I scream in the darkness of the night, who shall turn the lights on for me to see?
When I am losing my hope and faith, who shall restore them for me?
When I am screaming for forgiveness, who shall have mercy on me?
Who shall deliver me from all this pain? It is He who shall forgive my sins, and salvation shall befall.
